At the 2014 MTV Movie Awards, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire was able to scoop three awards, including Movie of the Year. Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson were able to receive the Best Female Performance and Best Male Performance awards, respectively. Josh paid tribute to the late Philip Seymour Hoffman upon receiving the Movie of the Year award with Sam Claflin.
Sam Claflin wasn’t able to nab the Best Shirtless Moment award as it was given to Zac Efron. Likewise, Elizabeth Banks was beaten out by Jared Leto in the Best On Screen Transformation award.
Sam, Jen and Josh were also nominated for the Best Fight award. Donald Sutherland wasn’t able to get the Best Villain award.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire was among the nominees in the “Excellence in Film Fantasy” category in the 16th CDG award by the Costume Designers Guild. Catching Fire will be competing with The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and Oz: The Great and Powerful. Trish Summerville is Catching Fire’s costume designer.
